About Samy Bogdan Ciobica
Software Engineer & Technical DIY Enthusiast
Welcome to SignalString. I am Samy Bogdan Ciobica, a 41-year-old software engineer living in Madrid and a proud father.
My obsession with understanding how things work started long ago. As a child, I was always getting into trouble: taking apart radios to study the magnets or dismantling cameras to see how the lenses functioned. That curiosity never faded. It just evolved.
In my day-to-day life, I design and analyze complex software systems. But when I close my laptop, my brain stays in analysis mode. Whether I am diagnosing an engine misfire, optimizing a high-performance graphics card, or repairing a vintage hi-fi audio system, I am driven by the same goal: understanding the fundamental technical reality of the tools we use.
My home is a reflection of this. Between the five laptops on my desk and the gear in my workshop, there is always something to configure, repair, or improve.
Why I Created SignalString
I created this site because I grew tired of the noise. When you search for tech and automotive gear, most of what you find are hollow lists copied from retail sites or marketing specs that no one explains in practice.
I built SignalString to provide a clear line through that clutter, grounded in engineering rigor.
- Systems Analysis: Whether it is a GPU's thermal management or an inflator's duty cycle, I evaluate hardware by how its subsystems actually function.
- Hands-On Reality: My recommendations are born from practical experience: testing, repairing, and pushing gear to its limits in my own lab and garage.
- Zero Noise: I do not recommend products based on commission size. I only share gear that I would trust for my own professional work or personal projects.
My goal is to help you build a reliable, high-performance kit, whether you are tuning your car for the road, optimizing your PC for heavy workloads, or building out your home workshop.
